Readathon Progress

Good morning and welcome to the 24-Hour Readathon!

I’ll be balancing my reading time while also taking part in a massive community garage sale, so… there might not be a whole lot of reading the first part of this day. (Oppositely, it might rain all day, and then I shall Read All The Books!)

I am not a fast reader, so I have a fairly light goal for the day of four books. (Which would equal $80.00 for my charity: Reach Out and Read.) Anything extra is bonus!

First up: Choker by Elizabeth Woods

I’ll be posting my progress right here, and on Twitter, when I can.

Progress Report

5:00 a.m.

Now Reading: Choker by Elizabeth Woods  (okay, I’m probably still sleeping, but I will be reading this when I wake up, and get my garage sale underway…)

Hours missed: 0
Books read: 0
Money Raised: $0.00

5:00 p.m. – half way!

Our garage sale is finally over! Next up: a relaxing bubble bath and book #2.

Now Reading: The Raft by S.A. Bodeen

Hours missed: 5

Money Raised: $43.00

8:30 p.m.

Two fantastic books so far! I’m switching it up now with a graphic novel that’s been on my list for AGES.

Now Reading: Serenity: The Shepherd’s Tale, by Joss Whedon

Hours missed: 5.5
Books read: 2
Money Raised: $68.00

10:00 p.m.

I am starting to feel a little sleepy… but determined to meet my four-book goal!

Now Reading: The Winner’s Curse, by Marie Rutkoski

Hours missed: 5.5
Books read: 3
Money Raised: $88.00

Midnight – tapping out!

I made it to midnight before my eyes got too heavy. Halfway through The Winner’s Curse and absolutely loving it! But unfortunately I couldn’t make my four-book goal… ah well. Good progress was made, and money was raised!

My final stats:

Hours missed: 10.5 ($21.00)
Books read: 3.5 ($70.00)
Blog comments: 20 ($20.00)

For a total of $111.00 for Reach Out and Read!

On Monday I’ll total it up with my matched amounts from other read-for-charity readathonners as well and let you know what it all adds up to!

Are you Reading, too?

Leave a comment on this post, let us know what you’re reading, and leave a link to your blog or twitter feed where readers can go cheer you on!

Are you Reading for Charity?

Don’t forget to post your total charity amount to my Read for Charity blog post by Monday morning!

Not Reading?

You can still help me raise money for my charity by leaving a comment to this blog post. What do you wish you were reading today? Have you ever done a readathon or do you plan on doing one in the future? Or you can comment with general goodwill and cheerleading. (But please, no spamming, even with good intentions.)

Every comment earns $1.00 for Reach Out and Read!

And don’t forget to go visit other participants and cheer them on too! Go Team!
